In a nod to his ideas on kit design the hoops he added to the socks now feature on the white sleeves, which were both designs he requested be added to the Arsenal home strip to help players see one another more easily. He also pioneered the WM formation and the shirt features the formation on the back of the neck surrounding AFC.

Along with the elements in the Arsenal home shirt which take inspiration from the past, there are plenty of features in the shirt taken very much from the present. The materials used for example have all been created by recycling plastic bottles, a massive effort on Nike’s part to reduce their carbon footprint.

The players will also benefit from laser cut side vents which will accompany the shirts Dri-Fit materials which are featured on all Nike replica shirts. The Arsenal club badge on the players version is a lightweight bonded badge, instead of the replicas embroidered version, this seems to sit well with fans who would rather have the substance behind an embroidered club crest.

Along with all of these design elements, Nike have looked at how this shirt can perform better. As mentioned, Dir-Fit material will help to keep players dry and cool, but Nike have also looked at how to make it even more comfortable.

An ergonomic fit has been designed specifically to suit the movement of a footballer, it is more breathable than previous shirts, stronger than previous shirts and is very lightweight despite all of the new additions.

Warrior Sports are an American sports brand who until now haven’t had a foothold in the football (soccer) market, instead making their name in lacross and ice hockey. The deal with Liverpool is their first move into football, and should see them grow as we hear they plan on launching a full range of football clothing and equipment!

The new design is heavily influenced by the kits worn by the club in the glory years of the 70′s and 80′s, with the colour of the shirt being High Risk Red just like the tops worn by Kenny Dalglish. The Liverpool home shirt is made from a high quality cotton like material ensuring a comfortable fit, it also features a smart needle pin stripe design.

The 2012 Holland Home Shirt

The new Holland home shirt is styled typically in the orange that you associate with the Dutch national team. The home shirt however now features a contrasting orange design on the body of the shirt, with contrasting orange panels on the left chest and right hem, making the Holland home shirt one of the stand outs for the Euro 2012 Championships.

The Holland home shirt features black trim detailing on the hem of the shirt and also the sleeves. The 2012 France home shirt.

The France home shirt features a very classic look, featuring a smart collar design. The France home shirt is styled in a dark navy colourway, it features a thin hooped design that runs across the body of the shirt as well as the arms.

The collar featured on the France football shirt has some red trim detailing that runs on the inside of the collar, it also has a button placket that adds to the classic look of the shirt.

The French FA badge is fused onto the left chest reducing friction with the body, the Nike swoosh is also placed on the right chest in white, adding a nice contrast to the top.

The Chelsea Home Shirt is designed with a diagonal pattern through the material for some added texture, and is made with adidas’ Climacool technology, as ever. The effect is a smart football shirt we think, although some have likened it’s design as being too clsoe to last years Liverpool home shirt (alebit in red).
