I was at the Cardiff City Stadium last night to watch city take on Burnley and I played out a scenario in my head and wanted to know what you think would happen.

Chopra plays a pass forward to Bothroyd who is obviously 10yards or so offside. The Burnley defence are slow to the ball as there is no immediate danger because Jay is not allowed in this phase of play. The ball goes right past Jay. There are about 10 minutes on the clock and we are holding a 1-0 lead. If Bothroyd diliberately boots the ball into the stands or even better, out of the ground. What is the resulting action?

If a player touches the ball whilst offside it is a free-kick to the opposing team but will Bothroyd be booked for time wasting?
Cardiff needed the 3 points and if there is to be no booking in this situation I’d have loved to have seen him knock the lights off the bob bank with a kick that waste a minute off the clock.
